Toonz Boards FuturumKids’ New Pre-K Series ‘Charlie’s Ark’
We are elated to share that Toonz Media Group has inked a deal with Futurum Kids to coproduce and co-distribute Charlie’s Ark, the exciting new animated series.
FuturumKids, an animation and media company based in Gran Canaria, has been busy preparing for MIPCOM this year. The company has recently inked a co-production and co-distribution deal with Toonz Media Group for its new preschool series, Charlie’s Ark (52 x 11′). With activity ramping up across its first two properties and a new project under discussion, FuturumKids is sure to have a busy time at MIPCOM this year.
FuturumKids and Toonz, a long-standing leader in content creation, production, and distribution for kids and families, plans to actively seek out broadcast partners for the series at Cannes.
Award-winning illustrator Mike Payne brings you Charlie’s Ark – a story about a five-year-old boy and his beloved toybox in the shape of an ark. This is not just any toybox though, as Charlie’s toys come to life and embark on magical adventures together. With charming illustrations and an imaginative story, your child will be entertained for hours on end!

The series, which has started production in Ireland and Las Palmas, will have the same charm, stories, and illustrations as classic storybooks. The concept was shown at MIPTV in April and got a positive reception.
Longer-term plans for success include licensing and merchandising, building on writer and illustrator Payne’s success in commercial greeting card design, books and gift concepts that have sold in the hundreds of millions worldwide. With a solid foundation and concrete plans, there’s no reason why we can’t achieve even greater success in the future!
