Toonz and K6 Partner for New Pre-school Title for Christmas 2021

India’s Toonz Media Group and Canadian prodco K6 Media Group are getting into the holiday spirit with the Christmas-themed series Li’l Santa, a 2D-animated preschool show based on the comic book series by Lewis Trondheim and Thierry Robin.

The 52 x one-minute series follows the adventures of Li’l Santa—a miniature version of the most famous elf—in the North Pole. In addition to themes of friendship and sharing, the show will also include a focus on conservation and sustainability. Currently in post-production, the shorts are set to premiere just ahead of Halloween. The first season will end with a 22-minute Christmas special.

K6 Media Group produces the series, and Toonz acquired the exclusive rights to distribute the show globally, excluding Canada, where it will be available in French on TeleQuebec. Currently in English and French, Li’l Santa will soon be available with dubbing in additional languages.

Fantasy continues to be a focus for Toonz, as the company recently partnered with Finnish studio Ferly on the 52 x 11-minute animated series Kingdom of None, which centers around a group of friends who play every day in a magical world of their own creation.
