India - based Toonz Media Group is turning popular online and mobile game app Smighties into a 39 x seven - minute digital series for kids.Toonz Media Group's flagship division Toonz Studios will develop Smighties with New York-based IP owner Herotainment. The show is expected to launch next summer on Toonz's popular YouTube channel, Chotoonz, which currently generates 100 million monthly views.

Aimed at kids ages four to seven, Smighties will follow the whimsical adventures of the small and colorful superheroes, while also encouraging kids to embrace friendship and individuality.

In the card-based casual game, players are encouraged to collect more than 100 Smighties characters, each of which possess a unique superpower and personality. Toonz and Herotainment also share linear television and global L&M plans for the brand. The partnership follows the 2015 launch of Toonz Entertainment's subsidiary office in Auckland, New Zealand, in order to grow its business in the Asia-Pacific region.
