Paul Robinson Joins as Imira Entertainment CEO

International media executive Paul Robinson joined as CEO of Imira Entertainment, the top Spanish kids-family content distributor-producer, part of India’s Toonz Media Group. Paul replaces Sergi Reitg, who is leaving after a glorious tenure at the position.
With a large kids experience under his belt, having held senior executive positions at The Walt Disney Company, NBC Universal, and the BBC, Robinson will lead Imira forward as it angles to make the next stage of its growth within the global kids and family entertainment industry.

Discovery Brings Smighties to the MENA Region

Imira Entertainment has inked a deal with Discovery Networks in the MENA region for the fantastical comedy adventure series Smighties. Discovery picked up the Herotainment and Toonz Media Group co-production for 25 Middle Eastern territories in English and Arabic. The series will air on Discovery’s DKids channel, which is exclusive to beIN and covers territories such as Algeria, Bahrain, Chad, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Chotoonz Turkish crosses 100 K subscribers

‘Chotoonz TV Türkçe Çizgi Film’ , the Turkish YouTube channel under the Chotoonz umbrella has crossed 100 K subscribers on YouTube. This channel features slapstick comedy cartoon content for the Turkish audience. Major shows on the channel include “ Ta-ta-ta-taaam” - Turkish version of Rat A Tat , and “Kedi ve Papağancık” – the Turkish version of Cat & Keet. The channel is run from our Trivandrum office, with support from Toonz Turkey office.

Toonz Media’s Chotoonz TV Arrives on Roku

Indian animation production company Toonz Media Group has launched its popular channel Chotoonz TV on Roku streaming players and Roku TVs in the United States. Chotoonz TV is one of Toonz’s most popular channels that offers some of the best slapstick comedy for children around the world. Children can watch their favorite Chotoonz series on their televisions whenever they want at no cost. Among Chotoonz TV’s popular shows are Rat-A-Tat, and Cat & Keet.

Imira sells FUN series to Catalonia’s public broadcaster

Following a multi-territorial distribution partnership between Imira and FUN Union, this is the first deal to be signed in Spain. The Catalan public broadcaster will air KikoRiki’s first, second and third seasons through its Super3children network.According to FUN Union more contracts are currently being worked on by Imira Entertainment across the countries covered by the agreement, namely most Portuguese-, Spanish- and Italian-speaking countries.

Turner acquires additional seasons of Rat-a-Tat

Toonz Media Group and Turner International Asia Pacific have further strengthened their association with Turner acquiring Rat-a-Tat Seasons 4 and 5 for the South East Asia region. Turner had previously acquired the first 3 seasons of the popular show. Rat-a-Tat has been one of the Top 10 shows on Cartoon Network in the South East Asia region which includes Philippines, Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Mongolia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Tahiti, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Toonz Media Group has signed an agreement with Huashi Tv, one of the biggest Chinese Entertainment and Media Companies. Huashi Tv has acquired two of the latest titles - Hogie the Globehopper and Season 2 of our own Lucky Fred Series for the territory of China.
