New Pre-K Toon ‘Uma and Devan’ Stars Indian-American Siblings

Toonz Media Group and New York-based Sharmaji Productions have partnered on the production of a full season of Uma and Devan Namaste!, a new animated preschool series that is the first to explore the daily lives of Indian-American families. The show follows sister and brother Uma (age 5) and Devan (almost 4) as they balance growing up in the US while staying true to their Indian heritage.

Toonz Short Wins Award at UNESCO Salon Competetion

Kid's entertainment behemoth Toonz Media Group's short film 'Magical Piano' wins award at the prestigious UNESCO Salon Youth Video Competition 2016. In an elegant event held in Marrakech, Morocco at the iconic COP 22 Green Zone in the UNESCO Pavillion on November 14, 2016, Salon Films Chairman Fred Wang and Armelle Arrou, Chief of Public Relations and Partnerships, UNESCO handed over the award. UNESCO Director-General the legendary Irina Bokova congratulated the winners and praised them on their wonderful creativity. Dr Avaneesh, Head of Development, Toonz Media Group, received the award on behalf of Toonz.

Toonz Academy student Anwesha Samanta and Alumnus Unny K Sunny won award at 'My New Zealand Future' Animation Competition organised by Education New Zealand. In a glitzy event at an elite venue in Delhi attended by such high profile guests like ace cricketer Brendon McCullum, the Prime Minister of New Zealand Mr John Key gave away the certificates to the three top winners. The winners also get an all expense paid three week long internship in the most prestigious animation school in New Zealand.

Smighties Characters Inspire Toonz Series

Making it easier for today's tech savvy kids to find videos on topics they want to explore, popular online video community YouTube on Wednesday launched "YouTube Kids" - a huge library of learning content for children - in India. "YouTube Kids comes to India at a great time for millions of Indian families, as it provides children access to content that will enrich thier lives and create new opportunities for learning," Malik Ducard, YouTube's Global Head of Family and Learning, said in a statement.

Many top Indian YouTube Kids and learning creators will be adding new shows exclusive to the YouTube platform on the occasion of the launch, YouTube said. These include new learning shows from "ChuChuTV" and "Kids TV", a new season of "Cat and Keet", a popular chase comedy show by Toonz Animation, the "Gummy Bear" song in Hindi and a new season of "Appu The Yogic Elephant".
